What fees are paid for an application for...? (with updates as of 1 April 2024)

When submitting an application in an administrative procedure, you will most likely be asked to pay a fee. Here, you can find a basic overview of fees chargeable in different situations.

RESIDENCE

Submission of an application for a temporary residence for the purpose of:

(* fee in brackets is to be paid if the application is submitted at a Diplomatic Mission of the Slovak Republic abroad, if different from applying at the Foreign Police Department) 

• entrepreneurship - 330 (350) EUR
• employment - 250 EUR 
• seasonal work - 50 EUR 
• special activities - 140 EUR
• family reunion - 200 EUR 
• performing professional duties in civil services of the armed forces - 100 EUR 
• Blue Card - 250 EUR 
• third-country national who has the status of a person with long term residence in another EU Member State and is conducting business activities in the Slovak Republic territory - 330 EUR 
• third-country national who has the status of a person with long term residence in another EU Member State and is employed in the Slovak Republic territory - 250 EUR 
• third-country national who has the status of a person with long term residence in another EU Member State and is performing special activities or research and development in the Slovak Republic territory - 140 EUR
• third-country national who has the status of a person with long term residence in another EU Member State, who is a family member of a third-country national who has the status of a person with long term residence and the family existed in another member state - 200 EUR 

Applications for a renewal of a temporary residence for the purpose of:

• entrepreneurship - 200 EUR
• employment - 140 EUR
• seasonal work - 25 EUR
• special activities - 50 EUR
• family reunion - 100 EUR
• performing professional duties in civil services of the armed forces - 50 EUR
• Blue Card - 140 EUR
• third-country national who has the status of a person with long term residence in another EU Member State and is conducting business activities in the Slovak Republic territory - 200 EUR
• third-country national who has the status of a person with long term residence in another EU Member State and is employed in the Slovak Republic territory - 140 EUR
• third-country national who has the status of a person with long term residence in another EU Member State and is performing special activities or research and development in the Slovak Republic territory - 50 EUR
• third-country national who has the status of a person with long term residence in another EU Member State, who is a family member of a third-country national who has the status of a person with long term residence and the family existed in another member state - 100 EUR

! Applicants younger than 18 years of age are exempt from the payment of a fee. 

Application for a permanent residence - 250 EUR)   

! Spouses of Slovak citizens and applicants younger than 18 years of age are exempt from the payment of a fee. 

Issuance of a residence card - 6 EUR 
Issuance of a residence card as a substitute for lost, destroyed, damaged or stolen residence document - 25 EUR
Issuance of a residence card as a substitute for lost, destroyed, damaged or stolen residence document repeatedly within two following years - 50 EUR 
Residence card delivery - 4 EUR

Application for a tolerated stay - 140 EUR
Application for the extension of a tolerated stay - 50 EUR

Confirmation about the residence of a foreigner in the Slovak Republic - 4 EUR

 

VISA

• Application for Schengen visa - 80 EUR 
• Application for Schengen visa for a child aged 6 to 12 - 40 EUR 
• Application for a national visa, if required in connection with the receipt of the issued residence permit in the Slovak Republic – 14 EUR 
• Application for a national visa, if required to comply with obligations arising from international agreements, if it is in the benefit of the Slovak Republic or if required in connection with applying for a residence permit in the Slovak Republic – 50 EUR 

BUSINESS

Issuance of a Trade License (unregulated trade) – 7 EUR 

! No fee shall be charged if the application is submitted by electronic means and signed by electronic signature.

Issuance of a Trade License (craft trade/regulated trade) – 22 EUR

! The fee shall be levied at half the rate if the application is submitted by electronic means and signed by electronic signature.

COMMERCIAL REGISTER

Application for the first entry to the Commercial Register:

• Joint-stock company – 550 EUR 
• Other legal entities – 220 EUR 
• The organizational unit of a legal entity – 220 EUR 

Application for change in the legal form of an enterprise (syndicate) – 220 EUR 

Application for change or completion of any amount of data concerning one registered person (with the exception of changes or completions of data in the name of a municipality, in the postal code, in the name of a street or other public area, eventually with thereof related changes of an orientation number or a registration number, if its seat, permanent address or the place of business do not change) – 50 EUR.

MARRIAGE

Marriage of a Slovak citizen with a foreign national – 100 EUR 
Marriage between foreign nationals – 280 EUR
Marriage, if none of the fiancés has a permanent residence permit in the Slovak Republic - 280 EUR 
Application for entry of a birth, marriage or decease occurred abroad in the Special Registry - 15 EUR 

PASSPORT

Issuance of a Foreigners' passport to a foreign national – 50 EUR 
Issuance of a Foreigners' passport to a foreign national aged 5 to 15 - 20 EUR
Issuance of a Foreigners' passport to a foreign national younger than 5 years of age – 12 EUR.

CITIZENSHIP

Granting the citizenship of the Slovak Republic to a person older than 18 years of age – 1000 EUR 
Granting the citizenship of the Slovak Republic to a child:

• Up to 15 years of age – 140 EUR 
• From 15 to 18 years of age – 210 EUR 

Granting the citizenship of the Slovak Republic to former Slovak or Czechoslovak citizens and those who opt to revert to their former citizenship in accordance with international law - 30 EUR 
Granting the citizenship of the Slovak Republic to Czech citizens born after January 1st, 1993 - 30 EUR 
Granting the citizenship of the Slovak Republic to an individual of which at least one parent was a Czechoslovak citizen at the time of his/her birth – 30 EUR 

Proceedings to issue a Slovak citizenship certificate – 14 EUR 
Proceedings to issue a confirmation of Slovak citizenship of a deceased person or to an individual who asked for the confirmation retrospectively to an earlier date before the date of application submission – 14 EUR 
Application for issuance of an ID card – 7 EUR 

INVITATION

Invitation verification application for a foreign national travelling to Slovakia (for each foreign national indicated in the invitation verification application) – EUR 50

Warning: In some cases, you may be exempt from payment of fees pursuant to Act No. 145/1995 Coll. on Administrative Fees. Verify this with the Foreign Police or the MIC.
