Permanent Residence
- who is a spouse of a Slovak citizen with permanent residence in Slovakia or who is a direct dependent relative of a Slovak citizen with permanent residence in Slovakia,
- who is a single child younger than 18 years and has been placed under the custody of a foreign national who is a spouse of a Slovak citizen with permanent residence in Slovakia,
- who is a single child younger than 18 years of a foreigner with permanent residence for five years or a child younger than 18 years that has been placed under the custody of a foreign national with permanent residence for five years,
- who is a dependent child older than 18 years, not able to take care of himself/herself due to a long-term unfavourable health condition of a foreign national with permanent residence,
- or if it is in the interest of the Slovak Republic.
The Foreign Police may grant permanent residence for an unlimited time to a foreign national, who:
- has held permanent residence for five years at least for 4 years;
- is a child younger than 18 years of age of a foreigner with permanent residence for an unlimited time.
- who has legally resided in Slovakia for an uninterrupted period of at least 5 years directly before the submission of the application;
- whose long-term residence expired or was cancelled due to legally stipulated reasons;
- who has had five years of authorized, continuous residence in the territory of the Slovak Republic or Member States as a holder of a Blue Card, another residence permit for the purpose of highly qualified employment, research and development or studies, as an international protection beneficiary or as a holder of a residence permit for the purpose of family reunification with a Blue Card holder and has been staying in the territory of the Slovak Republic as a Blue Card holder or as a family member of a Blue Card holder for at least two years immediately before applying.
